PADDY’S POND, N.L. — Emergency crews responded to a small plane crash near Paddy’s Pond Saturday evening, August 22, after reports of an in-flight emergency in the area.

The St. John’s Regional Fire Department, Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) and RCMP responded to the area near the Paddy’s Pond overpass at approximately 7:35 p.m.

Authorities initially reported an in-flight emergency over Paddy’s Pond before confirming that a small aircraft had crashed.

Two People Reported Injured

At approximately 8:35 p.m., officials confirmed that the incident involved a small plane and that two people sustained what appeared to be minor injuries.

The westbound lanes were later reopened at approximately 8:30 p.m., allowing traffic to resume.
